Getting started
Double click "GameBasePlayer.exe" - that's it.
You should then get a screen listing the existing installed Gamebase databases, which will look something like this :-
Any database which is configured with Gamebase should work with GBPlayer.
To startup a database - either double click over the name, or right click and select the "start database" option.
For databases which you haven't used with GBPlayer debfore, you may see the following message :-
In this case, your presented with a default profile. To change the profile (either create your own, or use one from the download packs, either click "Display->Edit Profile" from with the main GBPlayer menu, OR, right click the database name from the initial list and "edit properties". See the Guide - Profiles

Additional Pointers/Differences with Gamebase
- Screen Shots
- Click over an image and it'll open in a viewer.
- Additioanl graphics stored as extras will also be displayed along with the screen sots - ie the boxscans.
- Sub searching
Ie as "lem%" in the below screen shot
- The edit box next to the game filters allow for entering of "wild card searches", ie type "lem%" (without quotes) and hit return.
- * and % act as wild card - multiple characters
- ? acts as any single character.
- To clear the filter - either select a filter from the main list or delete your inputted text and hit return.
- By default, a "%" will be added for you, ie type "OID" - it'll search on oid%
- Click the main game list with the mouse, you can also type the game name - just like in gamebase.
- The "related" and seq/pre-quels now work from a right click menu over the main game list grid.
- Related now lists all the games together. Click the "back" button to return to the previuous view.
NOTE-Prequel & sequel will add those games to this list. "Related to" is not available in this mode
- Keyboard navigation (and mouse scroll wheel) currently only work on the main game list.
- Clicking items in the "game detail view" will invoke that filter - just as in Gamebase.
